Found the problem!
The problem was that I added the plugin .add_plugin(JsonAssetPlugin::<WorldConfigJson>::new(&["json.world"]))
in another plugin than the system that accessed the data (configure_world()
). e.g.
main{
App::new()
.add_plugin(plugin1) <--- added the JsonAssetPlugin inside this plugin
.add_plugin(plugin2) <--- ran the configure_world system inside this plugin
}
I dont know why this would be a problem. I make use of states and the system runs in a later state than my loading and setup states. Either there is something I dont understand about bevy or there is problem with this crate, which one i cannot say but probably the former.

Could it be that your ordering also moved the plugin below where you add the default plugins?

Yes you were right. I had to add the JsonAssetPlugin after the bevy default plugins. Thank you for the help and your awesome crates :)
