can't get to run in OS 14.4

This is the best screen saver ever, no contest.

I've had it on my 2009 MBP for years. FWIW, I liked the "rainbow hills" bug :)

I recently got a new M3 MBA running 14.4 and I can't get hills to run :(

Clearly much has changed in the Apple OS for screensavers. the latest hills release just won't load. I run hills.saver and it opens the window for the screen saver system settings but no hills to choose from. And the /Library/ScreenSavers folder, while still there, doesn't seem to actually do anything. Putting hills.saver in that folder, or the user specific Library folder, doesn't work.

I want my hills!

Any advice?
