Crash in the navaid detail screen when displaying a navaid with less than 3 character id.

I've been unable to query for NOTAMs for a while now, I should have opened this ticket a while back. Was looking at the code, and saw the site that's being queried is https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov, but if I go to that in a browser it redirects to https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch/nsapp.html#/ at least sometimes it does?

I'm no coder so I'm not sure if that matters when querying the system.

Very nice product, however I noticed that your decoding of weather information for an airport is giving the wrong information for the winds. While it is true that all winds aloft are provided in True direction, that is not the case for wind observations and wind forecasts for an airport. In those cases the winds are provided in Magnetic direction.

It is a little thing and any pilot reading the information should know this, but it can be misleading for the uninformed or novice.

For towered airports, having the times for ATCT operation (which are different from "Attendance") would be really awesome. This probably requires additional parsing logic for TWR hours in the dCS data.

As an example, Salinas (KSNS) attendance listed as "Attended continuously", and FlightIntel therefore shows it as "Continuous". However, there's a separate control tower hours of operation further down, which is "1400-0300 Oct-Mar, 1300-0300 Apr-Sep", which doesn't show up anywhere in the app that I could tell.

Lost x-wind component after last update. Would love to have it back. Thank you.

Show AWOS/ASOS phone numbers in communication panel even if the frequency is missing. They are currently shown in the remarks panel which not ideal.

I updated FlightIntel on three different Android devices and now only receive error messages when trying to access METARs, TAFs, Prog Charts, etc... The error message is "Unable to get METAR for this location" for multiple locations. Kapa, Kbdu, Kbjc, and Kden are some examples.

I updated the databases as of today. I uninstalled, restarted, installed the app but the same error message appeared. I have not looked for a message in the log.

Canadian airports like CYYZ, CYYD etc don't show up in the favorites list after marking them as favorite. They come up as starred in the airport detail screen.

When using "Nearby" screen, the auto update feature resets the scroll position to top every time the screen is refreshed whenever a location change is detected. For better usability, the scroll position should be restored whenever the list is refreshed.

Now the app prompts for downloading the data base, when selecting an airport, even though it's been already downloaded. Deleting and downloading again had no effect. Uninstalling and reinstalling, also no effect. Droid Razr Maxx Verizon.

when i use search function for airport name 'davis' the response is "14 airports matching 'davis'".
i dont get the actual airports. is the only way to find an airport by scrolling? i on a samsung charge.

I downloaded a PDF manual and on my readers say is corrupt. I cannot find where it is located to delete it and retry.

App crashes when viewing details of airports that have empty state codes. This mostly affects non-US airports such as airports in Canada and Bahamas.

Make the GPS requirement optional to make the app compatible with devices like Nook Color that lack a hardware GPS.

getting afd entry for khwd brings up afd page before hayward and not for hayward

showMessage() was passed a null object that made the activity crash. Do the null check before using the object.

I like this program and would rate it 5 stars if it provided the hours-of-operation for the classes of airspace at the respective airport such as class D airspace.

Include private use military airports such as KNHK in the data file. There is some interest in having that available in the app.

It would be great to have ATIS phone numbers (where available) next to the frequencies even if the phone numbers are found in the TWR9 records only.

I'm on the look out for quality apps to add to the f-droid.org repository of FOSS Android apps. Many who use that app store don't tend to use Google Play. What do you think about allowing an alternative donation method to unlock the AeroNav addons? AFAIK there is only one other app there that operates a 'freemium' model, https://github.com/mtotschnig/MyExpenses, so it is possible. Also users there are OK at donating, at least they're well used to that model.

Another concern is that f-droid.org isn't incredibly good at keep apps updated. IT would probably be best if you saw to updates yourself to keep the data timely. It's quite easy, especially with tags; just a matter of making pull requests to their repo. If you'r up for that I can get you the original recipe.

Google play services are out of date, so there is no way to donate and unlock app. Please fix.. I'd like to give you money :)

A missing setText() is causing the ASOS/AWOS phone number to not show up.

The AirportsProvider is not exported, and so results do not show up on 4.2 devices. Add exported="true" to the provider declaration.

When multiple versions of a download type are available, the app is not able to handle them properly. Better to only show one version at a time.

Manifest file lists android.hardware.telephony as the required feature which these tablets lack.

Make the android.hardware.telephony an optional feature and check for the feature at runtime.

The af/d shows opening and closing times for the control tower, but the app says tower 24 hours. This is a discrepancy. Thanks!

I just tried to attach a screen shot but this git form spit it out claiming a file size

5MB, which is silly because that screen capture is <100k ! It was
of type PNG.

I want to report an interesting user experience. I was looking to find out the density altitude at KMPI, field elevation 2,254ft. I loaded the Airport Details page and scrolled down to the Weather Stations page. I clicked on the first entry and scrolled down to the Temperature section. I read the Density altitude of 600ft! and concluded that this is the density altitude at KMPI.

There is a big user mistake I did. There was no weather reported for KMPI and the application showed the next available station which is KMCE. I did not notice this distinction and firmly believed I got the right weather. There is a 26nm distance and 2,100ft elevation difference between them!

I understand the usefulness of seeing near-by weather stations, but maybe a warning should be in order if the distance or elevation is over a certain threshold.

Rather than have to erase scribbles, it would be nice to add an undo and redo at the top left

The Runways section of the Airport Details activity shows an icon of the the runway direction, the two labels, as well as a note for right pattern traffic where necessary. The last part, the right pattern note, overlaps with the runway details (length, type, condition) when rendered in portrait on smaller resolution screens.

The occasions where I detected it was for KPDK on a Nexus S.

Tried restarting app. Deleting downloads and downloading them again.

The weather stations with 2 number and one letter identifiers (ex 2W6) do not show up in the weather station list. Their info does appear in the internal fadds database, but it isn't making it into the app.

I recently reset my phone and had to download the program again. When I start the app, it asks me to download the database. When I try to do this, I get this message "unable to create a folder on external storage." I know this is a new thing with KitKat 4.4.2 not letting apps access the SD cards. I'm rooted and I made the changes to get around that but apparently flightintel still has issues. Is there a way to download the database on internal storage? Is there a way to fix this? The message comes up even when I unmount my SD card.

For an airport, on the AIRMET/SIGMET tab, if I click on the View Graphic button and select All G-AIRMETs and SIGMETs only SIGMETS are displayed. No AIRMETS are shown.

This is on the latest version as of 5/18/2020.

For KSFO Ground, the Airport Communications lists two frequencies 128.650 and 121.800, but the AF/D PDF page lists only one. Is the second one picked up from somewhere else?

In Library -> Manuals when I click on Aeronautical Chart User's Guide a small Forbidden message appears at the bottom of the screen. I am able to download successfully other manuals and documents from the library.

My currently installed Downloads are up-to-date with Documents Library Effective Apr 26 - May 24, 2018. The app version is 6.7.6.

Just tried to use the program. Had a flag indicating data expired & also a message "please download the required database". Tried to download the new charts only to get a cannot start download message. Went to the download page but other than the blue basr across the top indicating the download page, is blank.

So now I can't download any data. Please help.

The current version drops terps chart downloads on screen rotate on both my HTC desire hd (android 2.3.5) and Samsung galaxy note 10.1 (android 4.1.2).

Today is 17 Dec, I updated my other aviation apps last night, but forgot to update FlightIntel. While out of cell/wifi range I tried to start FlightIntel and it just locked up tight. Totally useless. It said my data was out of date and could not contact an update server and refused to budge.

I am often out of internet contact for days in the back country. Having my nav data disappear because it is 36 hours out of date could leave me in a big bind. I can understand putting a big warning on the screen, but total lock out is unacceptable.

Cannot retrieve metars on Android 5.0.1. Samsung Galaxy S4.

For the KOAR airport, there is a weather station on the field and its frequency 134.025. The frequency is listed on the A/FD PDF page. The weather station is not shown on the Airport Details page for KOAR. Moreover, when I search for KOAR on the Weather category, I get one result but when I click on the Airport Details page is displayed instead of the Weather page.
