This is a React NextJS build of the already existing pc-parts-shop-java bootstrapped with create-next-app.

Getting Started

Make sure you have Node.js installed.

Install dependencies

First, you will need to install the npm packages and dependencies:

npm install
#or
npm i

Set up environment

  1. Create a .env file at the root of the project.
  2. Locate .env.example (.../pc-parts-shop-next).
  3. Change the values of these variables.
DATABASE_URL="mysql://username:password@host:port/database"
# If we use Django RESTful API, we do not need to provide a DATABASE_URL
# Unless we are willing to generate a database with Prisma ORM
# Then update the URL accordingly

API_URL="RESTful API URL"

Start development server

  1. To start the development server, run:
npm run dev
  1. Wait until the project finishes starting up...
  2. Access http://localhost:3000 with your browser to start using the web application!
