There is no binary/release for arch, it would be nice if there could be an easier way to install NewCP on an arch based distro.

Initially, after opening the app a javascript error appears. After closing it and relaunching the app (as instructed in the discord), I was able to login and play. Since then, when I try to open the app and click login, I only get a blue loading screen. Only the ads load. I am using a Mac with version: NewCP-1.5.1-x64.dmg. I just joined and got this version yesterday around 8:40pm EST and I have not been able to login since 12:00 am EST.

NewCP-App is an electron based client for running New Club Penguin. It comes with a builtin flash player, and uses a version of Electron from before flash support was dropped.

Does the NewCP desktop app having Flash create difficulties in updating Electron? I know Chromium has ripped out much of their plugin code. NewCP is still on Electron 11.1.1 and Chrome 87. There's a bug with it where it'll stay in the background after being closed and consume memory, which you are already aware of. Is there a plan to fork Electron and backport changes?

I have no idea where the issue lies and what it would take to fix it. I would not create an issue here due to that. Previously asked in the Discord only to face abuse. There was no channel for discussing NewCP itself and supposedly the only way to talk to contributors of the project is to create a ticket, which there were only two options for. There's no discussions here, which are the best fit for questions like this, so hence an issue.

I want to install NewCP on my chromebook with the linux VM but I have an ARM chromebook so I can't. I tried running it in my browser but flash is no longer supported

Hi! I'm a beginner with installing/running packages of this type. I'm operating on Fedora 34. I mostly use my computer for bioinformatics purposes, so I install most of my software via mamba and the Bioconda repository! NewCP is a little more complicated :) My issue might (quite likely) not have anything to do with your package, but I'm really struggling to find answers elsewhere.

I have downloaded the electron, node, and yarn dependencies. When I try to run 'yarn start' within the NewCP file, where the file 'package.json' is located, I get the following:

Does the order in which one installs node, electron etc. influence the way the program works? Have I sonehow installed teh dependencies wrong? Am I completely off-base?

After clicking Login I get a message on the middle of the screen: Couldn't load plugin. 😭

Since Electron Forge is being used to build the binaries, the Flatpak maker could be added to have compatibility with all major Linux distros without having to provide a separate package for each one.
