awesome-stock-resources's Issues

Public Domain Collection

Hi,

My name is Marcela, and I head up one of the Partnership Programs at Pond5.

As part of our library, we host a large public domain collection of 80.000+ HD and 4K files available for research and free consumption: http://goo.gl/vr7cM8.

I'd appreciate if you can add our library here.
:)

All the best.

Categorise photos and add descriptions

I have began adding descriptions on the description branch. Currently they are very untidy and difficult to read. I have a few options.

  1. Break down photo's into sub-headings, perhaps by license.
  2. Use license only as description and save descriptions for only the unique / specialist resources.
  3. Sort list by subject matter categories. This could be problematic due to the a large number of the resources containing a varied range of subject matter.

Comments welcome regarding how to approach this.

Rethink link to licenses

Currently the link to the various licenses is textual and makes the list difficult to digest in some pages. Consider adding a key and a small icon which links to the license instead.

New header image

Remove current place holder image and replace with a new logo image.

Validate pull requests with Travis

Hello, I wrote a tool that can validate README links (valid URLs, not duplicate). It can be run when someone submits a pull request.

It is currently being used by

Examples

If you are interested, connect this repo to https://travis-ci.org/ and add a .travis.yml file to the project.

What's the difference between CC0 and public domain?

From the Creative Commons CC0 info page:

The person who associated a work with this deed [CC0] has dedicated the work to the public domain by waiving all of his or her rights to the work worldwide under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights, to the extent allowed by law.

So, functionally, what's the difference between a work explicitly licensed with CC0 and a work "free of known copyright restrictions"?

Should the two categories be merged, or is it worth keeping the distinction?

Rethink Aggregated Content sections

Currently the Aggregated Content section resides under on to level heading. Due to the nature of this section containing various subjects it might be difficult to distinguish what the content is for each website.

Consider new ways to display this content.

Consider adding Logodust

Free Logo Designs For Your Projects, Added Every Tuesday - http://logodust.com/

"At Fairpixels, we help ambitious entrepreneurs design their brand. With many unused logo design proposals piling up on our hard drives, we decided to make them available for FREE. If you need a quick, simple and clean logo or placeholder to kick off your project and your budget is limited, check out the feed below."

Add descriptions to each link

There are some links which don't contain descriptions. Descriptions are required prior to adding the Awesome list.
