auto-pruner's Issues

Test settings command

Display Settings:

  • Check if providing no arguments displays settings.
  • Verify that the displayed settings are current and accurate.

Role-related:

  • Check if providing role ids results in an error.
  • Test if mentioning a valid role is correctly parsed and set.
  • Test with invalid role mentions (e.g., non-existent roles) to see the behavior.
  • Verify the reset functionality for roles.
  • Check if providing no roles gives an appropriate response.

Enabled Setting:

  • Check if doing enabled: true enables pruning.
  • Check if doing enabled: false disables pruning.
  • Confirm that the default state (if not set) is clearly communicated.

Interval-related:

  • Check if the interval setting accepts valid strings (e.g., "every 3 days").
  • Check if every is enforced at the start of a string.
  • Verify the behavior with incorrect interval formats (e.g., "3 days", "each 3 days").
  • Test boundaries, like extremely short or long intervals.

Days-related:

  • Test the behavior when setting the number of days within the allowed range (1-30).
  • Check the system's behavior when providing days less than 1 or more than 30.
  • Verify the behavior when not providing the days option.

Channel-related:

  • Test if specifying a valid channel sets it as the logging channel.
  • Check if providing an invalid channel (e.g., a channel that doesn't exist) results in an error.
  • Ensure that the bot checks for required permissions in the specified channel.
  • Test the behavior when the bot doesn't have the necessary permissions.

General:

  • Test with multiple settings at once (e.g., enabled: true, interval: "every 4 days", and roles: "@admin").
  • Ensure that error messages are clear and actionable when invalid options are provided.
  • Check if all settings are correctly persisted in the database.
  • Test the command as both a user with "ManageGuild" permissions and one without to confirm permission checks.
