anemosens's Issues

Bearing size, quality and friction

Gesundes Neues! :)

I'm experimenting with different bearing qualities for the 608 size.

I find that the ones you link to are of… let's say… varying quality.

I ordered some SKF bearings for comparison, they are much more consistent but still have considerable friction.

This causes the vane and the rotor to miss out on the low and very low wind speeds.

Did you experiment with different bearing types (e.g. ceramic vs. steel, sealed vs. unsealed, adjusting lubrication, etc.?

Additionally, do you see a way to solve the problem of co-axial rotor arrangement while using smaller, lighter bearings (e.g. 623 wherever possible)?

Cheers and thanks for all the work,
Sebastian.

PS: I've accidentally printed the parts in ASA using a Prusa Mini (FDM) before I saw your instructions to do it in SLA… :D

Thickness of the cups

Hi,

after printing i found the cups thickness below 0.5 mm and this is not sufficient for an heavy usage, i suggest between 1.2 and 2 mm.

Moreover as i think using anemosens on a salingboat , i plan to add a ESP8266 chip inside to make the anemosens completly wireless ;

For the moment as you have published only the stl files i'am not able to make the changes by myself, so you will be very kind to publish a version with this change or to publish a workable format (i use freecad (.FCstd)).

Thank's for this very good job
François
