Install dev-util/gitlab-runner for CI
It would be helpful if this VM could be used directly with gitlab for CI. Install dev-util/gitlab-runner and update the README.md to include documentation on how to configure and run the VM with a gitlab project.
Reinstall dev-vcs/git with USE=perl to enable git send-email
Many open source project use git-send-email to post patches to a mailing list. Release 20230731 does not support this git command:
# git send-email
fatal: git was built without support for git-send-email (NO_PERL=YesPlease).
This can be fixed by removing /etc/portage/package.use/git which sets USE=-perl
# cat /etc/portage/package.use/git
dev-vcs/git -perl
Install dev-vcs/subversion for svn client support
Currently the only version control system installed is git. Several upstream projects still use subversion.
Add perf support to the image
Can we please have the package dev-util/perf in the image?
