build-breaker's Introduction

G'day, I'm Nicholas! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm a developer with a love for web development and automation.

At the moment, I'm helping organise logistics with the awesome crew at UNIHACK.

You can read posts about my interests on my blog or via my RSS feed. I tend to write about music, weekend projects and short technical dives into the software I use.

When I'm not coding, I'm likely playing brass/piano or at band rehearsal! ๐ŸŽต ๐ŸŽต ๐ŸŽต

build-breaker's Issues

Storing and reporting build failures

Some kind of datastore is needed to record failed builds.

At the moment I'm leaning towards something using the existing Postgres server I have running on my DO droplet, since that won't require a lot of setup and won't incur extra expenses.

It's might be better to include the DB in the Cloudformation setup, keeping all the services necessary for this project grouped together.

Starting with the former and then moving it into AWS is an option and might be a good learning experience too.

Tracking builds from Buildkite

Buildkite is a build provider.

It would be good to be able to record failed builds on their platform.

I haven't been able to investigate how they do notifications yet.
