Hi there beloved Creator!

Good to hear that my issue makes sense, I think you're right that 1.x Hephaistos, having changed quite a few times during 0.x development, eventually was not able to identify the files from the old version.

By the way, I'm happy to help. Hephaistos is a wonderful project, and sadly I have no tips for you on how to make it better, haha!

1.x Hephaistos looks really good, I haven't run into any problems yet (aside from this specific issue involving the files being corrupt).

Thank you once again for your dedication to Hades and the Ultrawide community, you've made me and a lot of other people happy with this project! Good luck with future versions and projects.

Hey! Do you happen to recall with which version this happened? I did switch up how Hephaistos worked internally several times while in v0.X, as it was not intended to be stable anyway 😄 And indeed there was one point where Hephaistos could not retrieve the backup files from an earlier version because I switched where they were stored, and there was also one point where Hephaistos was breaking save files.

Hopefully it should not happen with v1.X onwards: should a breaking change be necessary, it will be released as v2.X and explicitly marked as such.

Sorry if this is either a "me only" issue, or not the right place to put this. Thought it was important.

Definitely the right place. I think we should be OK though, as this "worst case recovery scenario" can always be given to folks coming in with whatever issue (and I mean Steam integrity check is standard procedure when a mod breaks any game, right?), and anyway it should probably not happen anymore unless someone misuses the --force flag 😁

Thanks for the kind words by the way! Did you play with the v1.X releases? Do you like it? I've done a lot of runs trying to make sure it works well but I might have missed stuff, so don't hesitate to report it 🕵🏻
