I am a member of the developer team of the GateNLP project (see https://github.com/GateNLP and https://github.com/johann-petrak and http://johann-petrak.github.io/) and stumbled over this repo/project when I wanted to create an official python project for interfacing with GATE from python.

I am not entirely sure what this project does as it does not have much documentation and when I installed it, importing gatenlp gives an error ("ImportError: cannot import name 'diff' from 'gatenlp'")

I am wondering if there would be a way to allow "gatenlp" get used for an official python library by the GATE development team and if you would feel strongly about renaming your project or
working together to merge the code?

Hello @nickwbarber , could you provide me with some examples on how to use "gatenlp" ? I'm working on a project. My teacher wants me to use GATE Developer. However, I need to use python as well. Your project seems promising. But I really could not understand the documentation. Help :(
