At the moment, the text is copied to the clipboard. I thought it might be an improvement to also show a pane with (a list of) scanned text...

When you start scanning, would be nice if the mouse pointer changed to a more "scan-like" image. Much like when you grab a screenshot.

Add a second scan option
=> Scan (select) and Scan (click)
=> Separate shortcut / customizable

The click option looks for a QR around the selection point and attempts to scan that

Changing main screen (multi-monitor setup) should stop scanning if an active scan is ongoing

It took forever for me to figure out what was causing this issue, but whenever I have MenuBarCodeReader open the escape button does not work.
It doesn't matter if I use my actual keyboard or applescript's key codes, no programs detect the escape button being pressed down while this application is open.
Pressing down the fn key bypasses this issue.
