This code started as a Random Hacks of Kindness project in Oxford, UK 3/4 December 2011

Aim

  • To create a useful tool for developing world scientists developing flood prediction models

The data

  • Historical weather data for the entire globe is available from "reanalysis"

  • Records of major floods are collated at the Dartmouth Flood Observatory
