The plugin is advancing birthdays for my contacts. As in, if it was 1/1 originally in the contact database, it is being changed to 1/2.

The @ Symbol Linking plugin makes it easy to link to contacts. However, in most scenarios, I want the link text to only refer to the person’s first name or nick name, not their full name. This is achieved by using the linked note’s “aliases” property. It would be helpful if the Mac Contact Sync Plugin would automatically set this to the first name and (if configured) nickname of the synced contact.

1. Can you define what it means to "sync contacts" to Obsidian?
2. What do you do with this after you initiate the sync?
3. What is the use case for this?

Hello, I've noticed two issues when syncing contacts:

1. The state in an address is not being included. In my case, this is a US State
2. If the address doesn't include a street, no details are synced. In some cases, I don't know someone's street, but I know their city and state, so I put those in the contact

Could adjustments be made to fix these?

One remaining suggestion, perhaps add a field that would cause the plugin to run automatically every so many minutes or hours.

Hi, I get the following error when running the Sync command:

Error: Error: spawnSync osascript ENOBUFS
    at LoadContactsLogic.get_vcards_string_from_applescript (plugin:sync-contacts-macos:364:13)
    at LoadContactsLogic.loadContacts (plugin:sync-contacts-macos:331:27)
    at Object.callback (plugin:sync-contacts-macos:255:49)

I'm able to sync successfully when I reduce the number of contacts in my smart list...
There might be a limit to how much data can be sent from the Contacts app?

I have about 1300 contacts so that might explain why it's running out of space.
When I reduce the "Obsidian" Smart List to just 50 or so contacts, it works fine.

The following fields aren't getting pulled over when running the sync:

• Nickname
• Job Title
• Department
• Related Name
• More than one Email or Physical Address Fields
  • For example, if I had [email protected] for my home email, "[email protected]" for my work email, and "[email protected]" for my other email, only one would be selected. I believe it is the first one.
  • The same is true for physical addresses. Only the first one is getting populated.

An additional feature that would be nice to have would be the ability to mark which fields we want to get pulled over from Apple Contacts within the settings in Obsidian.

Hello, I try the plugin but i have an error message :

Error retrieving contacts:
execution error: Error: Error: Délai dépassé pour un AppleEvent. (-1712)

Do you know where that can come from?

Storing the info in frontmatter instead of the note contents would allow me to query it using dataview.

Also, the contacts plugin has an option to use frontmatter, making the two plugins possibly compatible.
