im at a dead end. any advice?

I am very much a beginner to linux so perhaps there is something obvious that I am missing here.
I am using the pre-built virtual machine download from the kali website. I ran the script at the point where only mingw checks are failing in chk_tools. "Incorrect 64Bit Version for Fudwin in Fatrat" it says.
I have tried to purge mingw usen the given commands by chk_tools and have ran the setup again only to run in to the same result.
