Energy Disaggregation with Machine Learning

Using the Reference Energy Disaggregation Data Set.

Current approach

  • Simplified problem: multi-label classification treating each appliance as on or off.
  • Analysis of current approaches: Combinatorial optimizaiton, factorial hidden Markov models and Maximimum Likelihood Estimates.
  • Novel approaches: Using neural networks (starting with autoencoders)
