Facebook Exporter Contact Exporter

Your friends on Facebook made their information public to you, such as their email, phonenumber, and websites. They want you to know about them! But there is no way to extract such data and place it in your most used contact book so you can keep in touch with them.

fb-exporter extension will allow you to get their contact information so you can contact them with your favorite email client. You can extract their information and transfer it to your client.

Your not stealing their information, your friends are making it public for you to use them. They want you to contact them. Thats what friends do eh?

Functionality

I am reading your Facebook friends all at once in a variable. That variable allows us to instantly see the users photo in a nice collage, and export everyone at the same time without any manual process, or you can pick and choose anyone.
Not only exports your friends emails, it exports your contacts phone numbers, emails, end IM screen names such as Google Talk, Yahoo, ICQ, Skype, QQ, and MSN (Windows Live Messenger, Hotmail), and your friends birthday!
There are error handling routines as well, if Facebook doesn't like what your doing, it will stop instantaneously! You can start it back again next day or in a couple of hours. Just open up the log, and you can see errors when it happens.
The results are cached, so if you want to continue the process some other time, then no worries, it will continue from the last processed contact.
I have refactored some portions of the code and added comments where applicable I have added a better UI. For example, a Facbook style dialog instead of the custom one made before. I have changed the way the process works too.

How to download

It is currently not available in the Chrome Web Store. I am decided to stop development to focus on better and more exciting things.

Facebook

They are converting emails into images so you cannot copy it somewhere (say what? 99% of the people copy the email into their email client). I added mechanism that catches that instantly. So you don't have to worry if they see something. The process will stop, and you can start it again the next day. When you start it again, it will pick up where it left off.

Feature Request Export Your Facebook Friends' Friend List

Expand this exporter to not only export your facebook friends list but also export the friends list of your friends.

not importing phone numbers etc to google

It didn't import my friends phone numbers.

Multiple phone numbers in FB profile are combined into one line

If the extension exports a Facebook profile with more than one phone number listed, and does so directly into Google Contacts, it'll combine the numbers together into one line for telephone number. It does this on a repeatable basis.

How to reproduce: Find Facebook profile with more than one telephone number, export into Google Contacts.

Installed the latest extension with the most recent mainline Chrome.

NOT WORKING

I've been using it on friday and it was fine, but today it's only exporting the url of the person's profile.
Can u see what's going on?

Facebook started adding extra request params to urls

For websites that get extracted, Facebook started adding " &h=(\d+)&refid=(\d+) at the end of each URL. It would be better to parse that out since its not needed.

STOPS BEFORE THE END

Dunno what's hapening, but i've performed this in many accounts ( 8 ) and in all it get's stucks before the end.
Since they are in cache i perform it again, but it doesn't go from that point on.
I've even tryed to erase the person were it get's stuck but without success.
( HELP :P )

3500 friend cached but don't see no export button

Hi ya, thanks for the FB exporter, I used it and it processed all the 3500 on fb, though i have 4328 friend, the exporter found 3500 friends and processed all the 3500 and they are now as cached but I can't export, is there a way to export these now either to gmail or csv.

Allow export and import of friend cache

It would be nice to export and import the cache. In case people want to run the extension in other computers.

Nothing happens

When I click "Let's Get Started!", absolutely nothing happens, on that page or the Facebook page. I've refreshed each and tried again numerous times. Help, please?

Extract your friends profile photo to Google Contacts

Would be very useful having your friends profile photo that they made public. Research if Google allows us to upload a photo.

Suggestion to add Gender

To add the field GENDER
To personalize what stuff we want to import
( look this example : http://apps.facebook.com/friendstocsv/ ( theirs doesn't allow to export the e-mail, the most important thing... )

Create a better User Experience.

It gets complicated for some users what to do. Perhaps remove a bunch of clicks and make the actions well known.

For instance, we could a control panel where a user can "remove cache", "export", "pause", "start", etc.

Fails to pull anything except name and profile url

It appears facebook is doing something to block the script now. Not sure why, but just now when I ran the script I only got results which looked like:

Joe Schmoe,,,,,,,,,,,,,"http://facebook.com/profile.php?id=xxxxxxxx",,

Not sure if there's any way to fix this. Thanks.

Last N friends not exported.

Many people who have 1000+ friends have seen this odd issue where the last ~3 friends not exported. It gets stuck there.

The way it currently works, I count the number of friends available for export and once each of their information is retrieved I decrement that counter. Once that counter reaches 0, it will show the export screen.

Some theory what might be causing this:

Chrome freezing: not allowing it to continue, maybe reached max heap?
Error happening: Error occurs, when that happens, Chrome just stalls, would be nice to find that error.
Code Error: Perfectly valid to blame me :) Maybe I missed something.

It would be nice if I can get more info regarding this.

Stuck at some friends

The exporter gets stuck 'Starting' at some of my friends, though its skips them and goes onto the the next ones. I've tried finding a relation between the profiles which are getting stuck but doesn't seem that they are part of a specific group or anything. Currently it shows 'Starting' for around 23 profiles.
