Hello

Design needs a code of ethics. I've taken a stab at it. But together we can improve them. I only know what I know. And my point of view is limited to my own experiences. This text belongs to you now. Make it great.

I'd also love to get these in other languages as well.

To add a language, create a file of the form languageCode.md (for a general translation) or languageCode_COUNTRYCODE.md for a regional dialect.

General English: en.md
UK English: en_UK.md

Add extra admins?

Hey all!

I've noticed that this repo is a bit slow moving, especially recently. Would it be possible to add extra admins/collaborators (or alternatively, transfer ownership – maybe to an org?) so that we can have PRs/issues move more quickly?

A slow repo is a dead repo, and I think this one needs to live :)

Improve gender neutrality in es_ES

As commented in #41, the English expression "A designer" (which appears 28 times in the en_US version) is gender neutral, but its translation into Spanish ("Un Diseñador", which appears 25 times in the es_ES version) is masculine.

It would be nice to reword some of the body copy to make it a bit more gender neutral (section titles will be harder to rewrite without losing some of the power of the original ("A designer is…", "A designer does…")

Rename “master” branch to “main”

GitHub has announced that by the end of the year (?) all new repositories will default to "main" instead of the problematic "master" naming convention. It would be nice to apply that to this repository as well.

A designer welcomes a diverse and competitive field.

Who are those people who have been "historically kept down" and "traditionally marginalized"? Where is it a tradition to marginalize them?
"Diversity leads to better outcomes and solutions. Diversity leads to better design." Are there studies supporting this claim?

Typo

'List of Langauge Codes' > 'List of Language Codes' ;)

Right-to-Left languages do not display properly aligned

Look at ar.MD for an example.

Reading through StackExchange and CommonMark discussions this seems to be a general issue with Markdown, so I don't know that it is addressable.

To fix properly, we might consider using GitLab and page generation to substitute a custom MarkDown page generator that understands RTL...
