To clarify, my structure looks something like:
(which throws the error: You may not @extend an outer selector from within @media)

@include define("project-helpers") {
    @include _add(navFull) {
        background: none;
    }
}

@include define("nav-skin-default") {
    @include _add(nav-skin-default) {
        background: #d24;

        @include breakpoint(small) {
            @include _use(navFull);
        }
    }
}

Hi Tommy,
_add/_use is a trick we used to be able to have cross-media placeholders, but it is unfortunately quite limited. It works by declaring the same placeholder names in a media query for each breakpoint you provide, but doesn't give you a free pass when trying to nest the calls.

I'm afraid you can't achieve what you're after with the current restrictions enforced by Sass, and I'm not sure those restrictions can be removed without opening the door for infinite loops in the code, so this looks pretty much like a dead end.

I'm closing the issue, feel free to reopen if you think a way out is possible.
