generalrepytivity's Issues

Name of the package

Hi,

a couple of hours ago I stumbled upon this package, and I started playing with it.
I like the way things are implemented, so I'll try to use it in my daily computations.
I hope to see the package grow in the future.

Yet, I feel that the name of the package is rather unfriendly and difficult to type/remember
(is it generalrelativitypy? generalrelapytivity? and so on) Every time I started a new
notebook I had to look at the correct name (btw, the documentation reports a wrong
name in the notebooks). Maybe, it's just me, but I would suggest something simpler.

Best,
sbozzolo

Issue with raising and lowering indices.

The raising and lowering of indices isn't precise enough: they're raised in such a way that after lowering index $a$ in a tensor $T^{abc}$ the result is $T^{bc}_a$ without any regard for the original position of $a$ which is really dangerous (the result of lowering indices in a matrix my be off by a transpose or even worse).

The whole thing calls for a completely different implementation. Take the results of lowering and raising indices with a grain of salt. I'll run more tests and keep you posted.

Difference with Sagemath (& Manifold)

Hi,
I was wondering why are you developing your own Python code for tensor calculus in GR.
In the last months I started using Sagemath which has a lot of functionalities already built in.
Of course If you need to use just the manifold part you have to install the whole software, which may be annoying. :)
