Card Browser

Browse documents using double-sided cards, and click to view in place.

Card Browser is a document set viewer featuring flippable, double-sided cards for natural navigation of media collections.

The Preview face of each card renders the headline image, title, and origin of the story with a text sample, enabling rapid discovery of documents of interest. Flipping the cards reveals the MetaData face, which lists document properties. Clicking on a card expands it in place for detailed reading.

Debugging

Install ssl certificate by running yarn run install-certificate and following the steps from: https://github.com/Microsoft/PowerBI-visuals/blob/master/tools/CertificateSetup.md
Enable Developer Tools in PowerBI: https://github.com/Microsoft/PowerBI-visuals/blob/master/tools/DebugVisualSetup.md
Run yarn start to start development.

Building

Run yarn run package to package the visual.
.pbiviz file will be generated in the dist folder

Testing

Run yarn test

Change caption for URLs

Dear developers,

this is the first time I'm using GitHub and I would make a proposal related to the Card Browser that would make this great visual even more helpful for me.

Currently the URL text that is shown in the Card Browser is extracted from the URL provided in without the possibility to change it. As I am providing links to several dashboards within our organization, the links is always shown as app.powerbi.com no matter where I'm linking to.

It would be a great feature to be able to change this. Do you see any chance for this feature to be implemented?

Image reflection in the reader mode looks odd

I utilize the CardBrowser to display the services offered to business owners by development actors. For each entity, I incorporated logos as images on the cards. However, the reflection caused the logos to appear distorted, leading to disapproval of the dashboard by the entities because it violated their visibility guidelines for logo usage.

Can the reflection effect be removed?

Can't add column to "Meta Data Fields"

When I connect pBI in mode "Live connection". The Meta Data Fields can not add any column data.
It's still work well when I connect with data in excel file.

Formatting

The Badge on top right, which is a RAG indicator is too small. I tried to put image of traffic light on that and it became almost invisible. How can we increase its size.

Can't display images in base64 format

Hi,

Is there any chance you could make the visual work for image URLs with data in base64 format? As of now I can only insert images that have a web URL..
If we could get this feature it would truly help me out a lot!

Problem with @uncharted/cards

I have a problem with build this visualization.

Installing @uncharted/[email protected]...
error An unexpected error occurred: "https://registry.yarnpkg.com/@uncharted%2fcards: Not found".

Action Field

Can we get an action field like on buttons where we can tell it what to do when we click for example follow a url instead of opening the card?

This repo is missing important files

There are important files that Microsoft projects should all have that are not present in this repository. A pull request has been opened to add the missing file(s). When the pr is merged this issue will be closed automatically.

Sorting Field is broken

Great application and seems to be widely used as a visual in PowerBi.

It looks like the sorting field is not working and makes it difficult to sort the images as experienced by a few people

Could someone fix the sort and if fixed would it publish and be available to PowerBi?
