luricifer's Introduction

Luricifer

A simple CLI tool to fetch lyrics from AZlyrics of the playing Spotify song using the API from https://github.com/mracos/python-azlyrics on Debian based distribution (tested with Ubuntu 17.10)

Installation

You can download Luricifer by cloning the Git Repo <https://github.com/mhtghn/Luricifer> and simply installing its requirements (make sure you have a virtualenv for python3 activated):

$ git clone https://github.com/mhtghn/Luricifer.git

$ cd Luricifer

$ pip install -r requirements.txt

Usage

You need to have the Spotify app (not the web player) launched and a song playing

If you already synced the lyrics or if you want to display all the lyrics at once :

$ python luricifer.py

If you want to sync the lyrics to the song :

$ python luricifer.py --sync

Press <Enter> to display the next line.

luricifer's Issues

Please make this installable with a setup.py

This would allow users to install it globally. Not really interested in hanging out in a venv for every day use.

As a plus, this would also help support people who use homebrew with brew-pip on macs. It's kinda nice when it works out.

I've never done this before (prepped a setup.py) and am not in the python ecosystem on the regular anymore, but maybe if I have a rainy day (lol) I'll submit a PR.

Add license

Right now there's no license to be found anywhere, which makes creating a package a little problematic. Please consider adding one.

Usage of azlyrics

Is there any special reason you are copying the files contents from the azlyrics repository instead of pipping it?

If not, i'm happy to make another pull request using the repository properly, reducing the amount of duplicated code in Luricifer :-)
