Greenhouse, Farm & Garden Automation Project

To assist plant lovers & hobby gardeners, as well as greenhouse or garden keepers, Melon Green project is an open-source farm, garden and greenhouse automation controller system (hardware & software), which is aimed to be easy to use, affordable and multipurpose.

How does it work?

In summary, Melon Green is a board (based on AVR microprocessors) with an operating software, which gets your orders (settings), detects events in its environment, and toggles agricultural machinery (like irrigation pumps, solenoid valves, heaters, humidifiers, etc.) on or off, whenever it's needed.
Melon Green Keeps Date & Time, Senses Temperature, Humidity, Soil Moisture, Rain (Detection) & Room/Sun Light Intensity. It can operate irrigation system/facilities, grow light supplier, heater, fan/cooler and humidifier. Melon Green has also some experimental functionalities to mix feeding solution (e.g. diluting concentrated liquid fertilizer).

melon_green's Issues

ESP8266 modules, RX, TX, ground, and 3v

Hi. What a fantastic project!

I've ordered some PCBs to be made and i am interested in trying to use an ESP8266 wifi module to convert the serial interface to wifi using esp-link (https://github.com/jeelabs/esp-link).

I've been scanning over the schematics to try and find a 3v VCC to complete the serial pinout to ESP8266 connection. Is there one in the design?

P.S if you have any photos of your setup of pumps, etc i'd be really interested in seeing them.

Board complete, uploaded code but not getting serial

Hello. I have built one of your custom boards and was able to upload the code via avrdude and usbasp however i cant seem to be getting a serial terminal running. Also im not getting any LED's turning on. There is voltage on the 7805 and 5v to the VCC sensor/ RTC pins. Also all the pins on the Atmega are connected correctly. Any ideas what i can test? It's strange because the power LED shouldnt rely on the Atmega at all. I'm running 12vdc input.
