Glad it works for you. Not sure if this is the approach I would have taken, but there are certainly multiple ways to attack it.
I will let you know if I have any thoughts.

Made a POC on the infinite_wip branch. You inspired me :)
Let's you do something like this:
import Ember from 'ember';
import pagedArray from 'ember-cli-pagination/computed/paged-array';
export default Ember.ArrayController.extend({
pagedContent: pagedArray('content', {infinite: true}),
actions: {
loadNext: function() {
this.get('pagedContent').loadNextPage();
}
}
});
Assumes the route uses the remote pagination mixin.
You'll need the scroll event to call that loadNextPage method.
It's unit tested but certainly not "real app tested."
Give it a shot if you'd like. I'm happy to help on skype

Consider my app the first to put it to the real app test.

my test failed but pretty sure I know why, just to close to launching the MVP for me to dive in. I will def dive into Sunday though, looks way cleaner.
