A popup control for Vaadin Flow

QuickPopup is a control similar to the PopupView for Vaadin 14+.

Versions

  • Version 0.+, 1.+ is compatible with Vaadin 14.+
  • Version 2.+ is compatible with Vaadin 23.+

When popup is shown, it appears first on the top left corner of the page

Hi,

after I wrote a comment in the website of Vaadin, I decided to open an issue here. I made some investigation and found what the problem is:

  • When the popup is added to the overlay it doesn't have any left and top set, so that makes it appear first in the top left corner
  • After that "updatePositionAndShow" is called and the position is changed

Two solutions come to my mind:

  • Set initialy the visibility of the popup to "hidden" and set it to "visible" when the correct position is received.
  • Append the child when we already have received the position (but this will require some code refactoring).
