The way to use this mode is press a key once, talk, then press the key again to mute yourself. Push to talk, on the other hand, requires you to keep the key pressed down to keep talking.

people talking become quieter the farther away they are from each other
and have the option to turn it on or off in the config files and maybe be able to configure how far away someone has to be until you start hearing them or something, and also being able to change these settings in-game without having to directly edit the config file would be great as well
Describe the bug
I try to join a private modded SMP and I keep disconnecting after a minute of joining. The server has the mod, and a friend of mine has the mod too, yet no problems for them. I can't interact with anything upon joining.
Also, when I try to configure the mod, it just outright crashes.

A. I expected to play Minecraft normally and be able to interact with objects. What I got was that I keep getting disconnected and before getting kicked, I can't interact with anything.

clicking the voice chat button crashes the game saying "The game crashed whilst mouseclicked event handler
