I see the originator hasn't been updated since 2011, and here seems have some warning signs as well.

I need something like this to improve a half implemented system of my own. I'm just curious about how much pain implementing this would be over the pain of working over my current solution.

The 'source code' link seems to still list the bitbucket repository that no longer exists. Was the project moved here, or is this an unofficial fork? Could you please clearly document this?

Seems like not a lot of effort is going on here(maybe there are better solutions, probaly involving javascript others are using?).

I'll volunteer to maintain this and integrate and/or just rename the package I did that does work with python 3 (fleem) with the package here, including documentation, pypi uploads, etc.
