Not a bad idea, especially since it's how the auto initialization with data-equal works. I'm debating if it should be branched to out v2.0 for that since it's a breaking change for how the manual initialization in JS works, leaving the v1.x branch for the current way it works. Let me think about that over the weekend on how to best keep it working for everyone.

I didn't forget about this - just got caught up in a bunch of things (work and life). I'm going to be swamped through the Holidays, but plan on branching this out into a v2.0 as soon as I can.
