Yes this is by intent, its all generated in the client to protect your privacy. There is no server-side generated content and the server doesn't even receive the !XqBunHwQIXUiqCaoxq:matrix.org/$1530352168595839HHUVP:matrix.org bit because its after a #

Also, the intermediate page somewhat slows down the UX. How do you feel about a parameter to directly go to pre-selected renderer?

The links you click on timestamps on view.matrix.org lead to matrix.to, then back to view.matrix.org.
I now realized I should file a bug in t3chguy/matrix-static. Sorry for posting in the wrong place and not reading the readme about the privacy feature.
