I was using the extension at 9 PST, and NASA posted the next day's APOD picture. The picture switcher does not work properly when this happens. I am working on it now. I need to make it so that it does not grab the date from the local time zone, but from EST. I am having a lot of trouble with it.
It would be best to remove JavaScript libraries, because it would make more concise. It might be near impossible to remove JQuery, because of the request for the API (it might be too difficult to request otherwise). If someone makes a pull request that includes the APOD API request without JQuery I can do the rest.
After loading about seven pictures it seems that it does not load any more. It just shows the rest (title, description, copyright, date etc.) just fine. The issue probably has to do with loading too many or it has to do with NASA’s api restrictions.
The picture switching feature acts up at midnight eastern time before NASA publishes the new picture. I have made the bug not as bad, but I am not sure it can be entirely fixed. I will try though, even though most people won't be using it late at night in the US.
