Issue with self-recursion, fresh install on a new machine. about voice-type-classifier HOT 1 CLOSED

To whom it may concern in the future,
The problem comes from the intricacies of how git handles submodules.
It occurs in the following situation :

• Repository A has voice_type_classifier repo as a submodule.
• But voice_type_classifier has repo pyannote-audio as its submodule.

Hence, pyannote-audio becomes a subsubmodule of repo A.
When cloning by typing :

git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/orasanen/ALICE/

Git will use a default configuration for installing the pyannote-audio submodule, and won't use the one present in the .gitsubmodules file such as specified in the voice_type_classifier_repo.

It should be solved by overwriting the .gitsubmodules file of the A repo into :

[submodule "pyannote/pyannote-audio"]
	path = pyannote/pyannote-audio
	url = https://github.com/jsalt-coml/pyannote-audio
	branch = bredin-pr
