vast-analyzer's Introduction

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'vast_analyzer'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install vast_analyzer

Usage

Simply pass your xml vast url to the parser object to instantiate a parser linked to that vast:

result = VastAnalyzer::parse('https://www.vastexample.xml')

You can then check attributes of the result:

result.vpaid_status
=> 'flash_js_vpaid'

result.skippable?
=> false

Vpaid status will return one of four options: 'flash_js_vpaid', 'flash_vpaid', 'js_vpaid', 'neither'

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake test to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.

vast-analyzer's Issues

Invalid gemspec homepage

Hi! Great gem you have here. :) I just have a quick question; while trying to set up a project using this gem, running bundle install gives me the following output:

Fetching gem metadata from https://rubygems.org/.......
You have one or more invalid gemspecs that need to be fixed.
The gemspec at
/home/h/.gem/ruby/bundler/gems/vast-analyzer-b0cae0d46e7b/vast_analyzer.gemspec
is not valid. Please fix this gemspec.
The validation error was
'"TODO: Put your gem's website or public repo URL here."
is not a valid HTTP URI'

I'm not sure why it cares so much about this, but just wanted to let you know and also ask if you have any clues as to how I can get around this error? I am no ruby pro so it might be very obvious but I am missing it!

Thanks!
