Although the default set is used most of the time, allowing a custom set through a set of options seems reasonable.

This may be achieved by including the options in the icon or splash methods:

appmedia.icon("path/to/image.png", { sizes : 218, 123 });

This is one of the few exceptions that the phone dictates a specific image format - in this case jpg, as per the official documentation:

The 480x800.png needs to be translated to jpg for these devices.

Before resampling to a new size the module should lookup to see if there is an existing image. If it exists it should skip to the next image.

Setting an option that can override this behaviour, like force, would cover the case that we want a hard reset of all the image assets.
