airpaste's Issues

possible use with webrtc

Hi mathias, I'm curious, would be possible use airpaste for make the handshake in webrtc and doesnt need a dedicate server, basically would share video and audio with other persons in my network..thanks

Issue running airpaste

Hi!
Trying to run minimal echo hellow world | airpaste example (as well, as others), from Dell to Mac OS (while hooked to cheap D-Link router) and getting

/usr/local/lib/node_modules/airpaste/bin.js:16
  if (err.code !== 'EPIPE') throw err
                                  ^
Error: connect ECONNREFUSED 192.168.0.15:52136
    at Object.exports._errnoException (util.js:843:11)
    at exports._exceptionWithHostPort (util.js:866:20)
    at TCPConnectWrap.afterConnect [as oncomplete] (net.js:1022:14)

Any ideas how I could debug/fix this?

airpaste silently fails.

On one machine I did:
$ echo hello world | airpaste
$

On another on the same network (and switch) I did:
$ airpaste
$

I tried the opposite order as well, nothing. No errors. Both machines are ubuntu-14.04 LTS. I installed it last night with "npm install -g airpaste". Some additional info:
$ which airpaste
/usr/local/bin/airpaste
$ ls -al /usr/local/bin/airpaste
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 35 Jul 8 20:13 /usr/local/bin/airpaste -> ../lib/node_modules/airpaste/bin.js

Would be helpful to know if there is any security at all

I completely get how this is a useful tool as long as people understand that there’s no security at all. Then again, maybe there is? Does a named stream name act as a shared encryption key or is it all just blasting in the clear over the local network?

Thanks for this tool! Classic Unix simplicity.
