Readme.md file needs improvement

We have an important task at hand: improving the readme.md file for our project. A well-crafted readme.md file is crucial for providing a clear understanding of our project's purpose, installation process, and usage instructions.

Feature : Split bill option while payment

Feature :

In many cases when we go out dining with a group splitting the bill is a problem,
We can solve that by adding a split bill feature while paying the bill. This can be an important and very useful feature for the app.

Approach :
The approach is something like this

  • At the time of payment after totaling of bill there can be a button for split in side of pay
  • when clicking that a page opens which lets you decide no of people to split between
  • It can have two options like split evenly, manual
  • then a QR generates in which for example 5000 rs in between 5 ppl evenly so, at first 1000 is deducted from parent app account the QR will accept 4 payments of 1000 each and then the QR is not usefull.
  • the screen would show payments received by number of people
  • at the end when all payments are recieved the parent app has the option to pay

Restrictions :

  • There are lots of restrictions and problematic situations that can arise so i suggest having a disccussion on this feature
  • we can start first with the UI then will work on it

Update documentation

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I would like to improve readme.md file. It lags some content which I would like to add.

Describe the solution you'd like
To complete the readme.md file, here are a few features I'd add:

  1. Adding the contributors column
  2. Adding a detailed description of the programs the project has been a part of. eg: GSSoC'23
  3. Adding "back to top" feature in readme.md file
  4. Adding the owner id

@m0hit-kumar Please assign me this issue under GSSoC'23 so that I can improvise and update Readme.md file.

About Us page

Planning on creating a about us page which will have details and links of the project owner, maintainer and top contributors,, also some links and links to the repo

can be accessible through the side bar i remember someone working on that sidebar thing

Missing Issue Template in Repository

Description:

I noticed that the repository does not have an issue template. Having an issue template can greatly improve the clarity and consistency of issue reports, making it easier for contributors and maintainers to understand and address the problems or feature requests effectively.

here are three templates that I want include:

Issue Template: This template enables users to create well-structured issue reports by providing sections for a concise title, detailed description, steps to reproduce (if applicable), expected behavior, actual behavior, additional information, and environment details.
Feature Request Template: The feature request template allows users to outline their desired features with clarity, including sections for a clear feature description, expected benefits, and any additional context or information.
Documentation Template: This template facilitates the creation of comprehensive documentation by providing a structured format, including sections for an introduction, usage instructions, examples, and other relevant details.

Redesigning App UI

This task requires your expertise and creativity. Task is to revamp the existing user interface of our app. To create a more modern, user-friendly, and visually captivating design that aligns with project's goals and target audience. Consider factors such as color schemes, typography, layout, and overall user experience (UX). Feel free to propose new design elements or suggest improvements to the existing UI.

Requirements:

  • Familiarize yourself with the current app UI and its functionality.
  • Research industry trends and best practices for UI/UX design.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, or prototypes to visualize your design concepts.
  • Incorporate feedback from team members and users to refine your design.
  • Provide design assets (e.g., icons, graphics) that can be easily implemented by our development team.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need any additional information to get started.

Design Get Started page

Controller issue

Describe the bug
The Restaurant Name and Location Textfields have the same controller. In other words when you type text in Restaurant Name field, it is also reflected in Location field which is not desirable.

To Reproduce
Go to Complete Profile page for Admin

Expected behavior
Text in Restaurant Name field should not be reflected in Location field.

Add Auto Comment Feature to Improve Collaboration

Issue Description:
As an active contributor to your open-source project, I believe that implementing an auto-comment feature would greatly enhance collaboration and communication within the project. This feature would automatically generate comments in response to specific events, such as when an issue is opened, a pull request is created, an issue is assigned, or an issue is unassigned.

Feature Details:

  • When an issue is opened, the auto-comment should greet the author and provide a brief acknowledgement and request for additional context.
  • When a pull request is opened, the auto-comment should greet the author, express gratitude, and remind them to follow the project's contributing guidelines.
  • When an issue is closed, the auto-comment should thank the author for their contribution and encourage further engagement.
  • When an issue is assigned to someone, the auto-comment should notify the assignee and encourage them to start working on it.
  • When an issue is unassigned from someone, the auto-comment should notify the assignee about the change and suggest reassignment if they are offline.

Benefits:

  • Improved communication and engagement with contributors.
  • Provides clear instructions and acknowledgements for various events.
  • Enhances collaboration by setting expectations and providing reminders.
  • Reduces manual effort by automating comment generation.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • The auto-comment feature should be implemented using the "wow-actions/auto-comment" GitHub Action.
  • Comments should be appropriately customized for each event, mentioning relevant parties and providing the necessary information.
  • The auto-comment workflow should trigger on the following events: issues opened, pull requests opened, issues closed, issues assigned, and issues unassigned.
  • The feature should be added to the project's existing GitHub Actions workflow file.

Additional Context:
Feel free to ask any questions or seek clarification regarding the auto-comment feature. I'm excited about contributing to your project and believe this enhancement will greatly benefit its community.

Addition in Issue Template

Description:

I noticed that the repository does not have an appropriate issue template.

Issue Template: I want to add some more points to your issue template like styling changes, documentation, etc

Please assign this issue to me under Gssoc'23 @m0hit-kumar

Sign up :Lacking Input Validation

In this example, when attempting to authenticate with the email 'haan' and password '234224', an exception is thrown: FirebaseAuthException ([firebase_auth/invalid-email] The email address is badly formatted). This exception occurs because the provided email address does not follow the correct format for an email address.

Designing new Illustrative UI elements

I looked up and found most pages use only a single illustration for display which is a basic food meal image, the designers working on the project can be assigned task on making new UI elements before working on the entire UI.

Fix Markdown in Readme

Describe the bug

In the last line, the markdown needs to be fixed.

Screenshots

Screenshot 2023-06-06 130241

To Reproduce

  1. Go to README.md
  2. Scroll down to 'Contribute to Bring_The_Menu'
  3. See error

Expected behavior

The link to the CONTRIBUTING.md file should be put inside the first brackets.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows
  • Browser Chrome
  • Version 113

Additional context

I would like to contribute as part of GSSoC'23.

Error messages

The error messages that appear while the user is signing in or logging in is not very user friendly, they are in a very technical language. For example if the click on login without entering any details the error says "Given string is empty or null"
Also, I feel the placement of the error messages should be at the bottom (like a snack bar) rather than in the center as users are used to such UI

[GSSoC'23] Improve the project image dashboard in the Readme file

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The app screenshots don't look that inspiring. We need to make it more presentable. I just want to make it seem more appealing for anyone visiting the project.

Describe the solution you'd like

  • I would put the images(screenshots) in the Bring-The-Menu/graphics folder and add a frame to it, and finally add it to a poster. I can also do it with a phone, so it would showcase different devices.
  • I would choose the colour of the background in accordance with the design theme

Additional context
@m0hit-kumar Please assign this to me under the GSSoC'23.

I have added some examples of how this project could look like (from my own repo)

Add ContributingGuidelines.md

The Contributing Guideline documentation will contain set of guidelines that will help contributors during the contribution process.
File type markdown.

Missing PR template

Pull Request Template means when someone opens a Pull Request, they will have a template that they can edit making it easier for maintainers of the project to review PR and make sure that no PR is submitted without proper description.
