It would be great to have a option to use volume up/down keys for next/play-pause keys.
So it would work like this:
Normal short press of the volume key would just change the volume, but a long press for volume up would be equal to next track and long press for volume down would play/pause.

When I use Cutespotify it stops playing after playback is interupted by a other app;
Example:
I listening music and someone calls, after the call I need to press the play button to start playback again.
This is unwanted when driving car, being at the gym and so on.
Please give me the choice from settings menu to play along after the interuption is done.
Hi, could you add a button which would allow to change output to bluetooth speakers or headphones. And in cases when bt is not activated, the cutespotify would activate it and connect to selected source.
Normally I have bluetooth disabled and I only activate it when I want to connect to bt speakers.
Thanks!
This is happening in Jolla and the latest Sailfish update. Before update the OS it works ok. Same thing happens in the care when pushing "next" in the steering wheel buttons.
at least for me after the 1.1.6/Aaslakkajärvi update the sound is 1.5x faster (at least), sound is like chipmunks are singing
Hallo Lukas,
when I close the app via swipe down, and try to open again. The app doesn't start anymore. Only reboot helps. I installed the app today after OS upgrade to 2.0.1.7.

CuteSpotify keeps crashing at startup or few seconds after startup if network is available. I believe this is the same reported at openrepost (https://openrepos.net/comment/3847#comment-3847).
I recently re-installed the app and cleared all user data and the problem went away just to return the next day. I have 11 offline-playlists with about 6GB of content.
If starting CuteSpotify from the terminal I get this output
sh-3.2$ harbour-cutespotify

Muistialueen ylitys == segmention fault.
Is there any logs which could help?
EDIT: It seems that the app doesn't crash while the screen is off. If I start the CuteSpotify form the command line it doesn't crash if the screen is off. As soon as the screen is turned on with a doubletap theres a crash with the segmention fault
I have a very poor connectivity, so I set my interesting playlists available offline.
When I try to read my songs, i get a very poor stuttering playback. I sometimes have to press three time on the play button to get a sound. It seems like the song is being downloaded again (data counter are raising when only cutespotify is running)
Once the song is finished, the next song does not start automatically, and I have to press again, many times, the play button.
Can you also remove the "Available offline" button?
It happened to me that I presssd it a couple times, then I had to resync my music again. I didn't had any connection, so I was out of luck at that moment (I was in another country at that moment)....
Maybe you can put that button into the playlist screen:
Hold down a playlist, a menu will popup with 'Available offline' or 'Unavailable offline'. (After selecting the option, adding a 5 second timer is also a good idea just in case...)
Also, the ability to remove playlists would be nice too you could also add this into the menu when you holddown on a playlist.
Again, when you press Delete playlist, a 5second timer for cancellation is also needed.

It would be nice to have a option to choose where cutespotify saves offline data/songs.
It seems that now we are loading all tracks from all playlist at start-up, this is very memory intensive. We should only load the tracks of a playlist which is requested.
Maybe third button in pushup menu.
Is it going to be a thing? People don't necessarily use Playlists. It would be a neat feature to be able to browse our collection, sorted by Albums, or Artists.
seach a song o album is not working. i´m using a Sailfish Os 2.2 on Moto g 2nd gen.
In JollaC there is no sound at all (loudspeaker, head phones or bluetooth). Buttons in the car steering wheel for next/previous works anyway. Jolla store version plays the sound ok. But those buttons won't work.
It would be nice if opening Spotify URI links through xdg-open
would open CuteSpot with the given content.
URI example:
spotify:artist:44gRHbEm4Uqa0ykW0rDTNk
This could be achieved by adding a MimeType handler to the .desktop file like here:
https://github.com/nodevel/harbour-hopscotch/blob/master/harbour-hopscotch.desktop
and adding a way to open CuteSpot with command line arguments.
Copying URIs from the application would then be a nice way how to share music with other Spotify users.
PS: I'd look into it myself, but my SDK has been temporarily uninstalled to help me focus on different things :)
Initial investigation did not lead to any result.
The crash happens after the playlist container is updated.
It's not possible to add a song to playlist in a playlist folder because Add to playlist-dialog does not list playlist folders. Only playlist outside folders are shown.
Cutespot version 1.5.4-1.
CuteSpot did not find my downloaded tracks after upgrading to 2.2.0. I guess it may be because of the SD card path change (cf. here)
I guess this affects:
cutespotify/src/storagemanager.cpp
Line 15 in dbf9c6e
Could this logic be extended for catch the new sd card path?
On a new installation (latest version), even being on a stable connection (WLAN), playback immediately stops. I'm using streaming - not locally buffered files.
I did the following:
=> The player appeared for a very short moment, but exited almost immediately again. This takes sometimes a bit longer, sometimes a bit shorter (between 0.5-2s I'd say) :).
I've run harbour-cutespotify --debug, but for me it does not make any sense or rather .. does not give any information.. maybe you can make more sense out of it.

If you need any further information, let me know, I'll help debugging, tracking and fixing/testing if you give me a hint where to look - source code whise.
At some point my playlists have stopped syncing from CuteSpot to other devices and other way around: changes made to playlists on other devices don't sync to CuteSpot.
I tried deleting all offline data and settings on the phone and on initial sync all the latest playlists were synced to the phone but subsequent changes were not.
At least not all of them. I tested with my devices and a few changes made with CuteSpot synced to all devices but most of them didn't. Same thing other way around. Changes made with Linux official Spotify-client synced to Android-spotify-client running on Jolla but not to CuteSpot.
Tested with Jolla 1, Sailfish OS 2.0.1.11 and CuteSpot 1.5.7-1 over WLAN and
Jolla C, Sailfish OS 2.0.2.43 and CuteSpot 1.5.7-1 over WLAN and 4G.
When the network changes from WLAN to mobile network or vice versa, the music playback just stops immediately and it loses the playback point. This is painful, when I move away or into the range of any WLAN networks. This happens immediately every time when the connection changes.
The music must have been buffered enough so there shouldn’t be a problem. And even if the playback pauses, I think it should stay at the same song position and not just stop all playback and lose the current playlist.
There is no problem with offline tracks.
PS. The official Android version of Spotify does not have this problem on Jolla.
The bluetooth controls used to work, but with Sailfish OS version 2.0.4.14 they don't work anymore.
Idea/Feature request: How about adding option to disable screensaver while cutespotify is running? (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1435194&postcount=226)
Since Jolla is able to let me answer and end calls by pressing my headset button it would be great if you would support it for pause/play in this case I do not always have to pull out my phone...
Usually I am wearing my Headset when I can not easily get access to my phone...
Edit: I have to say that I am talking about a cabled Headset as Cutespotify is working very well via bluetooth. I can use pause, play, next and prev tracks through my car multimedia system via BT.
Got a request for CuteSpot. I would love to see the Bluetooth controls, that now work like a charm, were expanded with streaming track info via Bluetooth as well.

all playlists are vanished
Morpog: i synced several playlists, it downloaded the first and showed it's progress on main view. The others had waiting for sync, but they stayed at that. After a good while I closed and reopened the app. Now all playlists i had activated for offline were ready. So it downloaded them but didn't show the progress.
Hi there,
I know you already wrote on openrepos that there is no API for that. But maybe it can be implemented using this:
