Example doesn't work?

I pasted the example into a file that I was working with:

data X = X [Int] String
  deriving (Generic, Show)
  deriving Semigroup via GenericSemigroup X

I get the following error:

src/Control/Monad/Bayes/Traced/Common.hs:63:12: error:
    • Couldn't match representation of type ‘GenericSemigroup X’
                               with that of ‘X’
        arising from the coercion of the method ‘<>’
          from type ‘GenericSemigroup X
                     -> GenericSemigroup X -> GenericSemigroup X’
            to type ‘X -> X -> X’
      The data constructor ‘Data.Semigroup.Generic.GenericSemigroup’
        of newtype ‘GenericSemigroup’ is not in scope
    • When deriving the instance for (Semigroup X)

I'm using GHC 9.2.4, possibly something has changed in the meantime?

Hackage revision for base 4.18 (GHC 9.4)

Hello,

Would it be possible to make a Hackage revision to loosen the bounds on base to include base-4.18? This would allow to build generic-monoid with GHC-9.4.

generic-monoid is the only package preventing me from compiling tmp-postgres using GHC 9.4.
