dsd's Issues

About the "NXDNScramblerKey=Auto" Command

Hi,
In the video titled "NXDN - Le scrambler 15 bits, est-ce qu'il vous protège bien?" at around the 12:28 mark, I noticed you entered the command "NXDNScramblerKey=Auto." Regrettably, I couldn't find this command in the latest version of DSD, and my attempts to use it didn't initiate the process as expected. Could you kindly advise if there is an alternative command for automatically finding the NXDN Scrambler Key, or have I perhaps misunderstood something? Below is the command I used:
$ dsd -i /dev/dsp -o /dev/dsp -fi -NXDNScramblerKey=Auto

However, the only response I received was:

Setting symbol rate to 2400 / second
Enabling only GFSK modulation optimizations.
Decoding only NXDN 4800 baud frames.
Audio In/Out Device: /dev/dsp

Unlike in your tutorial, I didn't get the line "NXDN encryption key auto detection."
Could you please help me understand where I might be going wrong?

Lastly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for each of your videos.
They have significantly enhanced my radio skills.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

dmr .....!!!!!

eric do you think you could help me with dmr rc4 ???? unfortunately in my country most of the dmr signals are encrypted with rc4 .... there are only a few that clearly have very rare activity ...... try better with cygwin from 0 .....

dsd - some good new - some bad news

dsd works beautifully on MacOS Monterey using SdrGlut.
dsd fails on the Raspberry pi.
dsd fails on Ubuntu 22.04.

On Ubuntu 22.04, I have libjack-dev, libpulse-dev, libasound2-dev, and RtAudio installed.

A "dvd -a" shows 24 devices - all of them fail. most of the time I get the message -

An error occured while initializing a portaudio stream
Error number: -9997
Error message: Invalid sample rate

I have attach a file showing one try -

dsdError.txt

On the Raspberry pi, I have the same setup but get different error.

DSD v1.8.4.

Louis, does this actually do DMR Simplex modulation or no. Could we have an answer please, many users are questioning its ability to decode simple simplex comms.

simplex dmr

when is it possible to add the feature of simplex dmr decoding

Audio devices in Windows

I'm try to launch this http://www.1geniesup.fr/download/dsd_Cygwin_x64_latest_version.zip DSD prebuilt:
DSD>dsd.exe -i 'CABLE Output (VB-Audio Virtual ' -o 'Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)' -fr -ma
but receive error
Error, couldn't open Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)
Please suggest correct syntax in Windows.

Unfortunately this release was built without Portaudio, so dsd -i pa:12 -o pa:2 also not work.

UPD. Also not work with local files.
dsd -i SDRSharp_20220505_124814Z_169249967Hz_AF.wav -o 1.wav -fr -ma
Same error:
dsd -i SDRSharp_20220505_124814Z_169249967Hz_AF.wav -o 1.wav -fr -ma

dsd - decode a demodulated file

Hi,
I have a demodulated binary file. This file contains DMR and should be first decoded and the dissected. I tried using the following command:
dsd -r AfterDemod__BinaryFloat32.bin -w out.wav -fr -ma
but it gives this error:
Error: could not open -w
When I run without -w I got the following error:
Error, couldn't open /dev/audio
Can you help me with that. I don't have devices I just have files. I also know some part of these speeches are encrypted.

Two commands do not work.

Hi,
Great job on the program.
Please note that:
fprintf(stderr, " -DMRPrintDataFrameHex Print all DMR data frame in hexadecimal format\n");
fprintf(stderr, " -DMRPrintDataFrameHex Print all DMR data frame in binary format\n");

Are the same command for two different things and none of them can be used.
Perhaps you would like to fix it.

Thank you,
Noam

hello Louis

I'm trying to work on EP / RC4 decryption and I wonder if it's get the iv from the signal frames or any header and if the keystream is only 40 bits (can't be less )
thanks in advance for your help

NXDN96 ISSUE

Hi
I think there is an issue with NXDN96. I tried to decode many tracks without success, the output is confused. I don't think the tracks are encrypted because I can listen voices, but they are distorted (too fast maybe?)
