dra-fair-teaching's Issues

archive on zenodo

hi @EstherPlomp, so we did not do this during the session, but I would still add this repo to Zenodo.
anything we should fix or take care of beforehand? thanks!

feedback from the dra

some feedback from DRA fellows.
maybe some of this can be implemented in any future talk.

lots to think about even if I am not sure how to apply FAIR principles to class material

Would have loved to spent more time on the FAIR principles and practical examples - would have been a great opportunity for a "try along with your own stuff" session :)

I think it would be nice to do less content and a little more interaction next time

liked the methodology teaching connected with the actual tool

you gave very nice examples by using the features you were teaching use about :)

It was very noticable that you liked teaching as a duo

I found the content super interesting, it was just a bit too much for me for the time to take it all in

question / comment about privacy

sometimes people have an interest to not share their materials (fully) openly.
how can they still implement FAIR principles and reproducibility as far as possible?

add license

hey @EstherPlomp, any thoughts on the license of this repository? we could go for CC-BY but maybe MIT would also make sense? thanks!

question about very visual slides

I agree with everything you said, yet I often find google slides just so much more convenient to create slides that are visual (which mine usually are). It has some sort of version control included. What are your thoughts on that?

how to handle static files (e.g., images)?

Hi @EstherPlomp, any thoughts on how to handle static files like images in this repo?
I often keep them in a separate cloud storage and then automatically download them into the repo (but not commit them) in order to keep the repository size small. however, this is a bit more complicated and perhaps a but unnecessary here since we are likely not including many large images anyways. let me know which way you would prefer to handle static files. thanks!
