amigargbtohdmi's Issues

New build, single button mode not working, can't flash.

I just built up a board, and trying the Beta36 software, and I can't get the menus to work, it acts like it's not in single button mode, so it just returns to the main menu, and if I hold it down it turns scanlines on and off.

the default.txt has been copied from Amiga_CPLD_Readme\Amiga_CPLD_Setup\Profiles to the root of the card.
And the next to the last line is.

single_button_mode=1

Any suggestions? I've tried 4gb and 32gb cards, formatted fat32 with 4k clusters.

Got one working (A1000)! But can't clear up noise.

Hi - Finished building and flashing and booting up v3 board tonight. It looks pretty good, but seems no matter I still get lines and a little noise even after I run the autoconfiguration. Tried a few times. My CSYNC is connected to the RGBtoHDMI pin and soldered to the U6 chip.

The TV I am using is a small and odd size resolution: 1360 x 768 - It's like a RV travel TV.

Thanks for any ideas

Video artifacting

Hi! Thanks so much for this awesome project.

I'll be the first to say that I don't know what I don't know when it comes to Amiga stuff. I've assembled a board and tested every pin for shorts with the mm, but I'm getting some artifacting on the screen. I'm guessing you've seen this before and might be able to point me in the right direction. Here's a little 3 second clip. https://photos.app.goo.gl/JEaZk1dhBtpuopQu9

Please adjust the new CPLD Adapter for the A1000

Hello, I'm really looking forward to the CPLD version for the A500. I've already ordered components.
But would it be possible that you adapt the A500 version so that it fits into the A1000.
In the A1000, the Denise chip is rotated 180 ° compared to the A500. That means with the new adapter the Pi would hang out of the front of the case. So it doesn't fit in.

It would look like this:
WrongSidemarked

Based on your new adapter, the Pi would simply have to be on the other side, not to the right but to the left (see photo for explanation).
So it could work so that neither the front nor the power supply are in the way.
PossibleMarked

Since the A1000 always has flickering pixels, because the timing is just a little different there than in the newer Amigas, your solution would be perfect for the A1000.

@LinuxJedi
It would be totally great if you could adjust that accordingly. Unfortunately, I can't design circuit boards, but if you can do that I would test it right away.

Unable to flash (in 1 button mode)

Hi,
I have successfully flashed 1 board and it works like a charm.... but all subsequent ones won't flash :-(
It could be due to bad CPLD of course but 1 out of 10 is a bit odd.
I have tried to clear the CPLD using the remove text file but no luck.
Interface shows Current=3-12BITBBC xx.x (See picture). I have never flashed them, they are brand "new". Could it be that they are aready programmed with another set? (those might be pulled parts)
Is there a way to forceflash/forceclear the CPLD from the Raspberry software using the Header?

BOM and POS for JLCPCB for Amiga 2000 2.2

videoslotadapter-BOM-jlcpcb.xlsx
videoslotadapter-top.pos.jlcpcb.xlsx

Hi,
I created these files from KiCAD. You may put the files into the repo. I don't want to go through the Pull request procedure.
As they are, they are eaten by JLCPCB but not tested (produced). Some components have to be manually selected (eg the LED resistor does not have a value and the CPLD is currently out of stock, use the industrial version for double price). Maybe some components need fixing their position. Check yourself through the ordering process.

They are for SMD parts only. As THT parts are better soldered at home.

Help: Pi Zero not powering up

hi,
Thank you for the putting the work in for this project.

I have A500 Rev 3 board. I've just made this board. It appears that the Pi Zero wouldn't boot up when plugged into the RGBtoHDMI adaptor, but it appears to boot when not plugin. Any pointer to debug will be very helpful. I've checked the soldering and it appears to be good.

thanks,
eddie

Other CPLD

The XC9572XL seems to be out of stock everywhere until 2024, at least for hobbyists.

Is there a way to redesign the adapters using a CPLD that is still available? (I don't know much about CPLDs, so I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question. 😉 )

Gerber files, graphics need to be moved to silkscreen layer

Hi, I ran into the issue today at PCBWay :

Hi John, For PCB order No. W234910ASB2,please see the image, the cartoon image can not be made on solder mask layer because the width of line is too thin. Please consider move it to silkscreen layer, and expand line to 0.075mm at least. Waitting for your new gerber file.

They want the image moved and line bigger. I don't know how to edit the gerber files / PCB software.
