It seems the issue occurs when The Set-compression 0x46 PLAY packet is received by the client. That particular packet has been described by Mojang's Grum as 'Broken' where he also stated that it will be purged. https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-67961
How and why does Lilypad use this instead of the Set Compression 0x03 LOGIN packet?

The error was caused by lily pad using a different method of compression than normal minecraft.
My implementation of compression worked for vanilla but as lillypad's implementation was slightly different it did not work with lily pad.
Changed my compression methods and it now works.
