This projects used Tableau to analyzes a bike-sharing data set in New York city in month of August 2019 as a proposal to the key stakeholders to invest in Des Moines.
Below are analysis requestd by investores:
- Show the length of time that bikes are checked out for all riders and genders
- Show the number of bike trips for all riders and genders for each hour of each day of the week
- Show the number of bike trips for each type of user and gender for each day of the week.
- The total number of rides for August 2019 was 2,344,224.
- 19% of these rides were used by customers and 81% were used by subscribers.
- 146,752 bikes have a check out time of 6 minutes in August 2019
- 108,087 of the bike trips were used by male checked out for 5 minutes, 34,151 bikes were used by female riders checked out for 5 minutes and 7,389 of them were used by unkown users checked out for 11 minutes.
- The majority of trips happen during 6-9 AM and 4-8 PM during Weekend and between 10-7 PM during weekend.
- The bikes were used by 1,530,272 male riders (64%) versus 588,431 female customers (25%) and 255,521 (11%) riders were unkowned in terms of gender.
- The bikes are used by subscribers and Thursdays are the most popular days for riding bikes
- The younger demographic tend to have a larger average trip during August in New York

In general New Yorkers use the bikes for commuting to work and home as the most popular times are morning and after work period of time.The bikes are also used during weekend for leisure and commuting. Young male customers are the dominent users.Majory of bikers are subscribers.
Sugessted more visualizatios are checkout time by age or BirthYear and user type. We can also find the rerlationship between station locations and customers genders or even age to learn more about the demographic of the riders around stations.
