I've made it check for 1.5+ for now. I don't run an ancient distro that ships 1.2 as default, so someone else will have to find a solution that works on 1.2+. Seems libpng 1.2's headers are broken.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't know the version in Debian was that old, seems like they've stuck with 1.2 for some time (1.5 is in experimental). I don't think I need PNG support (I assume it's for screenshots or something?) cause I haven't missed it yet.

It's not a very important feature. It merely compresses screenshots to .png when taken. If not built in, it will fall back to .bmp.
