antenna-helper's Issues

Feature Request:

Would have put this in @linuxgurugamer's repo - but issues/ discussions not implemented.

CustomBarnKit (CBK) allows for more than three levels of tracking station. Strategia, Bureaucracy and Komplexity (and more) make use of this.

Would you enhance this wonderful mod to look for and use additional levels of Tracking Station?

[Flight] AH fails to initialize

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
	AntennaHelper.Link..ctor (AntennaHelper.Relay transmitter, AntennaHelper.Relay relay)
	AntennaHelper.LinkPath.SetLinks ()
	AntennaHelper.LinkPath..ctor (.Vessel v)
	AntennaHelper.AHFlight.SetRelayList ()
	AntennaHelper.AHFlight+<StartSecond>d__0.MoveNext ()
	UnityEngine.SetupCoroutine.InvokeMoveNext (IEnumerator enumerator, IntPtr returnValueAddress)

Happen randomly, only on modded install it seems.

[Editor] Signal Strength of in-flight relays

Add a way to set an arbitrary signal strength for the in-flight relay that is used as target. And/or get the actual signal strength.
Useful for the distance at 100%, 75%, etc...

Power listed in editor is off by factor of "Range Modifier"

Description

Total antenna power for a vessel in the editor is multiplied incorrectly by the custom difficulty "Range Modifier" setting.

Perhaps the range modifier was inadvertantly applied twice instead of only once during these calculations?

Example 1

Difficulty "Range Modifier" = 5.0

In-flight on Starship
AntennaHelper window for first hop: "Starship TO KeostationaryRelay"
Starship relay power: 42,044,821
Starship total power: 49,996,612
Distance: 14,560,900 m
Calculated signal strength: 76.15%
Actual (stock tooltip) signal strength: 76%

In-editor on Starship
AntennaHelper, type: "Direct", pick a target: "KeostationaryRelay"
Power: 249,983,060
75% green/yellow threshold (actual 76% at 14.5 Mm, above): 74,900,820 m

Power and range are misreported in the editor as 5.0 times larger than true values, the same as the difficulty Range Modifier setting.

Example 2

Difficulty "Range Modifier" = 2.0

In-flight on Starship
AntennaHelper window for first hop: "Starship TO KeostationaryRelay"
Starship relay power: 16,817,928
Starship total power: 19,998,645
Distance: 15,208,150 m
Calculated signal strength: 7.75%
Actual (stock tooltip) signal strength: 8%

In-editor on Starship
AntennaHelper, type: "Direct", pick a target: "KeostationaryRelay"
Power: 39,997,290
75% green/yellow threshold: 11,984,131 m
(distance 15,208,150 m above means signal should be between 75%-50%; instead actual was 8%)
50% yellow/orange threshold: 18,351,686 m

Power and range are misreported in the editor as 2.0 larger than true values, the same as the difficulty Range Modifier setting.

CommNet question

Hi @Li0n-0 ,

I'm trying to use the commnet to check if there is a valid path between two vessels and, if so, calculate the signal strength

since you worked on this mod I assume you are familiar with how the commnet works,
If you have any help you can provide I will greatly apreciate it since I have had very little progress in trying to understand the CommNet system

thanks

Sigma
