• In the above conversation the chatbot extracted a programming language ('go') that was not even mentioned by the user.

Goals

1. Find technologies to detect new contributors from the messages.
2. Extract all the necessary information from the user's message.

Tasks Performed

1. Researched some technologies like NLP on TensorFlow, Python ChatterBot library.
2. Wrote some code to test the above findings.
3. Tested few use-cases on the scorebot-test gitter channel.

Outcomes

1. Efficiency and reliability can be improved on testing over the large dataset.
2. Response speed of the bot is very impressive

What can be improved?

• The main.py file has more than 150 lines of code. Split this into subfiles.

Description
The repository needs to be updated with the current progress f the chatbot (including all the code).

Create and run a python script to store all the community projects in the MongoDB Atlas database. The required fields are:

1. Tags: will store the repo topics so that the bot can search for the relevant project matching the user's skills/interests.
2. Repository Name
3. Repository Github Link
4. Gitter Link
5. Link to Good First Issues

Modules to tests:

• data_extraction.py
• response.py

The issue in data extraction is when a user gives their skills or interests in the next message (after the intro message).

The current function fetch_projects in the database module fetches only 30 repositories because that is the default param in the query.

The documentation should contain:
A detailed explanation of the working of the chatbot
A getting started guide
A contribution guide with development instructions
Deployment instruction for Heroku Cloud

The Gitter-ChatBot project needs to be developed from scratch so having one documentation to track the progress of the project is required. I have created one, here is the link Citter Channel Project Resources and Ideas

The documentation adds the following functionalities to the project:

1. Meeting schedules and their topics
2. Phase wise procedure, plan and resources
