best-of-hassio's Issues

Feature: add additional projects which are not listed in HACS

Describe the issue:

Great to see that the first submission for an additional project has already been created in #43. At this point, the projects.yaml file is an automatically generated file that contains metadata of projects that are available in HACS. In order to add additional projects, that have no association with HACS, we would need to manually update the projects.yaml file after each update. This would be one hell of a maintenance task.

Therefore I'd suggest to store all metadata, coming from HACS in a dedicated YAML file. Then we will create another YAML file where we can add metadata of additional projects, which are not included in the auto-generated metadata.

Then it's just a matter of customising the GitHub Action that will generate the final projects.yaml file by merging both the YAML files with the project metadata.

Feature: Use GitHub static pages to display content

Describe the issue:

As many have might have noticed: loading and rendering metadata of 1.4K projects on a single page has a huge negative impact on the user experience. Obviously, the mechanism of rendering README.md files is not designed for a project like this.

Instead of rendering the metadata on every page-load, an alternative approach might be generating GitHub static pages. Then the metadata only needs to be rendered once.

This solution will also make it possible to beautify the look & feel of the generated content.

Missing python scripts?

Hey,

thanks for the awesome collection. Maybe I am missing something, but there are 9 python scripts listed, but when I click on the link nothing happens and there is no python category when I scroll down

Add project:

Project details:

An application that runs as a separate executable to provide an alternative bespoke front-end to Home Assistant.

Additional context:

This project just talks to Home Assistant over its WebSocket API. It doesn't really fall into any of the other categories. Not sure what category name would be best?

Add project:

Project details:
Connect your FIAT, Jeep, Ram, Dodge, AlfaRomeo car ๐Ÿš— or truck ๐Ÿšš to Home Assistant. Needs a vehicle with enabled uconnect services and valid account.
