Create a timer where the player still can jump after "falling" or "leaving" a platform or the ground.
A countdown from 10 to 0 for instance.

Create a keyboard_released code where you can cut the jump in the middle of the air by releasing the jump button

i.e
if(keyboard_released(ord("K"))) {
vsp = vsp/2;
}
or something.

Create a bool where you make isJumping true and start animation the jump. And that the player jumps on frame 1 (Game maker counts frames or image_indexes from 0 and up)

In this case its the jump sprite sPlayerJump

was working earlier. kimmo ruined it somewhere ;)

If charging and dying at the same time the sound keeps playing

check if there's something similar to prettier-plugin for game maker

Adjust the following:

In CREATE:
walksp = 2.5;

in STEP:
all walksp to 2.5;

clamp vsp value between -7, 8 "vsp = clamp(vsp,-7,8);"

Test and confirm if its good.

Clamp is a efficient and useful way to restrict values between 2 points.
