Just incase it helps...
I checked out a fresh copy of fibers on the server with this issue to try to track down the problem. I ran make and it failed in the same place with the same error. But it looked like fibers.node got built anyway.
I tried dropping some code out there to test it out, and got this error when running it:
node: symbol lookup error: /root/temp/node_modules/fibers/src/fibers.node: undefined symbol: _ZN2v86LockerC1Ev

Got this figured out.
There was some files from an older version of node that were getting picked up. Not an issue with fibers, although quite a confusing error!

Yeah it's bad that the unit tests gobble up errors; I will fix this issue in a future release!
