1. Make sure 0 bytes of a free space available on the destination SD card
2. Either create a new file or open an existing file
3. Add some information to the opened file
4. Try to save a file
I would expect to see a clear message that there is no disk space available,
instead I see the message that the file could not be saved and a reason is not
clear

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installing Jota on a Samsung i5700
2. Opening, viewing several text files

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
with 10 MB of free internal mem, no Low Disk warning should appear.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I had this problem around 6 months ago, had to return to factory settings to
clear the data partition. Uninstalling individual apps wasn't removing the
warning. I had to do the same this time.

It would be very nice to have a highlight all when doing a search. It's more
common to look for matches rather than actually changing text.

Hey :)
As a hardcore user of Jota I often work with song titles, album titles, speech
etc, I'm always confronted with having to replace the single and double
quotation marks like the ' and the '' with these ones ‚ ‘ „ “ because
that's the correct way to use them in German.
Is there a possibility to integrate this in Jota?

jota+ version = 0.3.26. , android = 4.1.1
This issue referres to issue 23, Jun 2012: "non-English quotation marks".
I'm a novice in using jota and android.
And I have the same problem described in issue 23.
a) In my jota+ version, I see no alternativ quotation marks.
b) I downloaded the code offered in issue 23 by member #1, but nothing changed.
The Settings-Apps lists 3 apps: Jota text Editor, Jota+ and Jota*ProKey.
Is this correct?
What do I wrong?
Thanks
PS:May I remove Jota text Editor?

2. Type text long enough to trigger a line wrap
3. Or open a file with borh options on

Dear sirs,
I'm a long time user of Jota Text Editor and Emacs Org-mode. I've been testing
an Emacs Org-mode keyword file for Jota Text Editor, and would like to
contribute it for other users as public domain, since I'm finding it really
useful.
The org.conf keyword file is already done and working well, but I can explain
it a little. This file, attached to this message, includes the following lines:
blue=^\*{1}(\*{5})* [^\n]*|\n\*{1}(\*{5})* [^\n]*
yellow=^\*{2}(\*{5})* [^\n]*|\n\*{2}(\*{5})* [^\n]*
magenta=^\*{3}(\*{5})* [^\n]*|\n\*{3}(\*{5})* [^\n]*
red=^\*{4}(\*{5})* [^\n]*|\n\*{4}(\*{5})* [^\n]*
green=^\*{5}(\*{5})* [^\n]*|\n\*{5}(\*{5})* [^\n]*
These reproduce, basically, Emacs Org-mode behavior for its main structure (in
Org markup for text files with ".org" extension), giving colors to the
unlimited nested levels of headlines/projects/to-dos, which start lines with
one or more "*" according to the different levels:
* Heading, level 1
** Heading, level 2
*** Heading, level 3
Etc...
In org-faces.el (an Org-mode source file) we can see the default colors for
each level when using light background, according to the number of available
colors:
1. Blue1, Blue
2. DarkGoldenrod, yellow
3. Purple, Purple
4. Firebrick, red
5. ForestGreen, green
6. CadetBlue, magenta
7. Orchid, blue
8. RosyBrown, green
And cyclically repeating for levels 9, etc.
In the org.conf keyword file I've used the five colors currently available for
Jota (of course it would be nice to have some more, like purple, etc., but for
now these work fine):
1. blue
2. yellow
3. magenta
4. red
5. green
And also cyclically repeating for levels 6, etc.
Probably this explanation was not needed, since the org.conf keyword file is
already working well.
For more information, see for example:
Wikipedia: Org-mode
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Org-mode
Org mode for Emacs: あなたの生活をプレーンテキストで (in
Japanese)
http://orgmode.org/ja/
I hope the keyword file will be useful for those Jota users who, like me, sync
.org files between Android smartphones or tablets, and computers with Emacs and
other Org-compatible applications (Vim, Sublime Text...).
Sincerely,
Juan M. Gonzalez

Jota is over writing currently open files with content sent from outside apps.
Especially problematic when Auto Save is on.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a file with Jota.
2. Use another program (like sl4a) to send text to Jota.
3. Save the file, or just exit Jota with Auto Save enabled.
4. Original file is erased and over written.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect Jota to save my previous file (or display it and ask to save
it), and open the new text under a new Untitled filename.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Jota 0.2.16 (66)
Android 2.1
Please provide any additional information below.
This is made even worse with the menu option here:
Preferences> Theme Settings> Preview
Which will not only over write a file, but if you aren't currently using a
file, it prompts for one from your history to be over written!
I love working with Jota, but I have come to be VERY cautious (and a bit
fearful) about how I use it because of this problem.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
The chosen Wallpaper background, is displayed halfway in portrait mode, but
fully in landscape.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I know it's not a wallpaper size problem coz in Jota, the same wallpaper
displays correctly and in all the screen, while in Jota + it is shrunk to only
half of the background, the other half is in black.
I tried it with white and the got same bad result.
Jota girl background, that I don't care for, works fine though.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest version installed Dec 1st, today from Google Play store on a Nexus 7,
the original one. Android 4.3

I have been using Jota (not the plus) for a good time and was fine with it, but
installed Jota + because of the Google Drive save. Would have been better to
just install a GD plugin to the Jota I already had.
What upsets me most is that I could not try this feature before purchase.

Hey there! For me as a reviewer who mostly writes on his mobile phone, it would
be cool to have an option like in a form sheet where some parts are not
editable. For example
[Band name:] Blah
[Album name:] La la la
[Playing time:] 12:34
... and everything that I marked like [this] should stay like it is.
Would that be possible?

seemed to appear since a version in 2012.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Long press backspace to delete some (relatively long) text
2. Release the backspace when the targeted text are deleted
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
What I expected is that the deletion stops immediately after the backspace key
is released. Instead I see that SOMETIMES the deletion simply continues unless,
say, I hit the backspace key again, something I figured out that I could do to
prevent losing all the text if I act fast.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Since it appeared on different devices and on different versions of android and
I don't see this problem with some other editors on android, I assume that it
is a bug in jota rather than the underlying android.

Sorry I prematurely entered issue before.
Jota (latest version 2.06) is running very slowly (varying directly with file
length) on my Transformer Prime (ICS 9.4.2.14). Flick-scrolling lags
significantly, even on short files (~50K). Using the scroll tab on the
right-hand side of the screen works better, but also lags behind the finger
significantly.
Also, I cannot place the cursor correctly on the text. When I touch to select a
position for the cursor, the cursor is placed at the beginning of the same line
of text (the left edge) and I cannot drag the green pointer-tab to the correct
position.
I have just reset the tablet to factory spec to eliminate as many random causes
as possible, and the behavior persists.

It only runs on ARM architecture.
I prepeared pure-java version for test on x86 or MIPS architecture.

1 - I select a piece of text
2 - I click ctrl-C
3 - The text dissapears and the letter "c" appears instead of the highlighted
word
Expected behavious would be to copy that text in the clipboard so I can paste
it.
I checked the shortcut settings and under letter "C"the action is "copy".
Also I checked copy/pasting using the buttons provided on the bottom of the
editor screen and they work fine which means there is an issue with the ctrl-C
functionality.
I tried ctrl-A or Ctrl-V or ctrl-X and all got the same issue
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Jota with wifi enabled
2. Jota reports a number of bug fixes
3. Open working file from History list
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I should be able to continue editing my file.
What I get is a report that Jota is opening a new file (0 bytes)!!! Jota has
managed to scrub a file I've been working on for days, and it's only days worth
of work because I got caught like this once before and I make copious backups
now.
Please don't update this editor if it haphazardly protects my file. If it does
it once more, I'll dump Jota. Sorry.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? If it's
always updating, then it must be the most recent. I'm using Android 2.3.3
Please provide any additional information below.
Please rethink the whole upgrading procedure: the upgrade bug fixes are almost
irrelevant to the value of the text documents Jota clobbers.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Double-click (or double-tap) in text selects a word
2. Suggest triple-click (or triple-tap) in text to select a whole line
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Currently triple is same as double
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v0.2.05 on Android 3.2
Please provide any additional information below.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. On HTC ChaCha hardware keyboard, press the shift key
2. Type any letter and see that it is not capitalized
3. Press FN key
4. Type any letter and see that instead of a fn character (dashes, quotes,
numbers, etc) the corresponding letter appears - that is, nothing happens, it
is like FN wasn't pressed.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- The letter should be capitalized when shift is pressed once, or all caps if
shift is pressed twice. Instead, the letters are still lower case, as if shift
wasn't pressed.
- Same thing for FN. When FN is pressed once, a secondary character, such as a
dash, bracket, question mark, quotes and so on should be typed, but instead the
letter for that key is typed. That is, it acts the same as if the key was not
pressed. The FN key does not work.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- Jota Text Editor: Ver. 0.2.29 (79)
- Android version: 2.3.5,
- HTC Sense version: 2.1 for Messenger
Please provide any additional information below.
This problem exists on large number of other text editors and word processors
on HTC ChaCha. On some of them it works when the shift or FN key is being held
while the letter is pressed (the way shift works on a PC, for example).
I hope you will decide to fix this issue, because I would really like to be
able to use this amazing editor, but without the ability to type numbers and
other characters, it is useless to me (you can't even write plain English
without the hyphen :( )
Thank you for your hard work.

1. . N/a
2. Go into this selection mode, Then touch the desired
starting position, and drag cursor to desired end position
(or, in android drag the start & end markers to desired positions)
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
DESIRED - block of text bounded by row X to row Y, and by column X to column Y
SEE INSTEAD = can't do this
Would like to be able to select (for copy/paste) a rectangular block of text
(monospaced font documents only),
from Column X Row position Cx-Rx to Cy-Ry
Such as a table or certain portion of a table.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
